Our individual approach to your learning

In our private lessons we focus on you and your partner as individuals to allow you to develop at your own pace.

Your Skills

We focus on what you may have learnt already, what your strengths are as well as any weaknesses you may have. We can adapt to any limitations you may have, while stretching your abilities over the course of the lessons. We do this through both an informal chat at the start of the lesson (in addition to any notices you have given prior to your class) as well as assessing your movements through the first basic steps.

The Basics

We start with the basic step for each dance focussing on timing before moving on to further steps. We are happy to repeatedly go over a step until you are confident, whether 5 minutes or 50 minutes. We will only move on to more advanced steps when you are both happy and confident for us to do so. We will also work on hold, timing and posture to create good habits from the start.

Your Dance

You can choose which dance you want to start with, and moving forward you can choose which dances to move onto next. You can focus on the Ballroom dances, of which you can choose from Waltz, Quickstep, Foxtrot, Tango and Viennese Waltz, or the Latin American dances, of which you can choose from Cha Cha Cha, Rumba, Jive, Samba and Paso Doble, or a mix of both in any order.
