Children’s dance classes in Ballroom, Latin, Social and Freestyle from 3 years upwards.
We run children’s classes for a variety of ages and abilities in Ballroom and Latin. These classes cover a range of dances in each branch according to the classes’ ability. Students also have the further option of medals and performance opportunities for those who would like to develop their technique further.
Children’s classes feature modern music and great choreography to keep the classes lively and entertaining no matter your pace! This is especially relevant for younger learners where a great music choice is key to maintaining engagement.
These classes are an introduction to both Ballroom, Latin and Social dancing; students can choose to develop this further by joining our formation team or by advancing their studies with our Diploma. We also offer performance, competition and medal opportunities to our students. Students may choose to progress to grades and medals within the class in Ballroom, Latin and Social dance disciplines before moving onto a Diploma course. The Freestyle element is a great introduction to the discipline which can be further studied as part of the diploma or private lessons.
These classes benefit from IDTA qualified teaching with exams and medals processed through the IDTA syllabus. Our youngest students (under 8 years) will work towards rosettes which they build up on their sash (which they get with their first successful exam). Our older students then work towards their one dance medals before advancing through either grades or medal exams. Eventually, students will work up to their Level 4 exam which puts them on the first step of being a qualified dance teacher.
Our Monday classes are based at St Martin’s Parish Centre, off London Road, Worcester and is accessible to all. St Martin’s is a great central studio which is accessed by stairs, however wheelchair users will find our Saturday classes easier to access. We purposely keep numbers low so you get great levels of 1 to 1 teaching to help you advance your technique correctly from the earliest stages.
We also offer alternate Saturdays at Waitrose Community Room, London Road, Worcester 11:30-12:30. Our next class is 7th October 2017 and we do not stop for half term. There is free parking available as well as a range of other facilities such as the cafe, restaurant and more.
The classes are as follows:
- Mondays 6:00pm Children’s Ballroom/Latin/Freestyle (St Martin’s Parish Centre)
- Alternate Saturdays 11:30am Children’s Ballroom/Latin/Freestyle (Waitrose Community Room)
