Tolerable Storm Formation Team

Tolerable Storm is the name of our NEW formation team – focusing on Street Tap, Ballet and of course Ballroom & Latin.

The team has been created with the aim of the team performing at the Dance Proms at London’s Royal Albert Hall. This is in addition to other opportunities to compete and perform at venues across the UK. We are looking for 8 couples for the main team and 2 understudy couples for all performances and competitions. All dancers perform on rotation so everyone gets a chance to perform. The team is predominately aimed at 11-18 year olds but there are occasionally exceptions to this rule. Places are awarded following an audition or by invitation from the team leaders.

Open Auditions: 22nd April 2017

Our first open auditions are on 22nd April 12:00-6:00pm at Waitrose Community Room, Worcester. We are happy to welcome dancers from other schools and areas around the Worcestershire county. Dancers of all styles and abilities are welcome to audition; as we will be looking for core technique that we can develop and improve upon. The team is a mixed partner team – i.e. boys with girls but there will be no set partnerships within the team.

Commitment

The formation team requires a high level of commitment; not only to classes and performances, but also with fundraising for the team. There is a team uniform and practice outfits available; profits from which will go back into the team.

Classes for the formation team are as follows:

  • Line UP 2pm Saturdays
  • Ballroom 6pm Tuesdays
  • Formation Rehearsal 4pm Saturdays

We are creating a display team for prestigious dance events; therefore a higher level of behaviour, technique and achievement will be expected. There are also medal, exam and Diploma opportunities for those who wish to continue their dance career into their adult lives.
